WOMEN’S TENNIS CHOSEN FOURTH IN ECC PRESEASON TALLY August 31, 2010 CENTRAL ISLIP, N.Y. – The Molloy College women’s tennis team was picked to finish fourth this season in a preseason ballot conducted by the East Coast Conference head coaches, the league announced on Monday afternoon. The Lions, who secured their first-ever berth in the ECC Tournament in 2009, put together a mark of 4-7 overall last year. Queens College was selected as the unanimous favorite to win the conference as the Knights raked in all seven possible first-place votes in addition to 49 points. [READ MORE]
WOMEN’S TENNIS TURNS BACK NEW HAVEN, 5-4, IN 2009 SEASON FINALE October 10, 2009 WOODBRIDGE, Conn. – Ahead 4-2 after doubles and three singles contests, freshman Caitlin Ortiz put away the match for the Molloy College women’s tennis team against the University of New Haven with a 7-5, 6-3 victory over senior Leah Smith at Amity High School on Saturday afternoon in Woodbridge, Conn. FREY COLLECTS ALL-ECC FIRST-TEAM HONORS October 7, 2009 CENTRAL ISLIP, N.Y. – The East Coast Conference issued its year-end accolades for women’s tennis on Wednesday morning, and freshman Jeana Frey was named to the first-team for her efforts during the season. During the 2009 campaign so far, Frey has registered a singles ledger of 6-4, which includes a 3-2 mark in East Coast Conference action.
