WOMEN'S TENNIS CLOSES OUT 2011 SEASON WITH 6-3 LOSS TO CALDWELL
CALDWELL, N.J. - On Monday afternoon, junior Jeana Frey and freshman Michelle Strack each recorded a win in singles action, but the Molloy College women's tennis team fell by a 6-3 final to Caldwell College in its 2011 season finale at the Caldwell Tennis Courts in Caldwell, N.J. With the result, the Lions ended the season at an overall clip of 1-11. As for the Cougars, they improved to 4-5 on the season.

WOMEN’S TENNIS SWEPT BY QUEENS IN ECC ACTION, 9-0
FLUSHING, N.Y. – A total team effort paced Queens College to a 9-0 win over the Molloy College women's tennis team in an East Coast Conference clash on Tuesday afternoon at the Queens Tennis Courts in Flushing, N.Y. The Knights were led by Erika Goldsmith as she claimed a victory in both first singles and doubles.

WOMEN'S TENNIS COMES UP SHORT AGAINST C.W. POST, 5-4
BROOKVILLE, N.Y. – On Monday, the Molloy College women's tennis squad notched two victories out of three in doubles play from C.W. Post, but fell 5-4 to its East Coast Conference foes at the C.W. Post Tennis Courts in Brookville, N.Y. The duo of junior Madeline Jurlano and sophomore Nikki Gloria highlighted the day with an opening 9-7 first-doubles win over Morgan Milleisen and Katie Avelar.

WOMEN'S TENNIS LOSES AT NYIT IN MAKE-UP CONTEST, 7-2
PORT WASHINGTON, N.Y. - The Molloy College women's tennis squad made up its previously postponed match versus New York Institute of Technology from Sept. 15, with the Bears clipping the Lions on Friday afternoon by a 7-2 final at the Port Washington Tennis Academy in a non-conference clash in Port Washington, N.Y. Sophomore Gabrielle DiCroce in addition to freshman Michelle Strack each won their singles tilts in the defeat.

WOMEN'S TENNIS HANDCUFFED BY DOWLING IN 5-4 LOSS
WEST ISLIP, N.Y. - Behind 3-1, the Molloy College women's tennis team battled back to win its second- and third-singles matches, and tie the contest. But, the Lions dropped two of their final three decisions on Monday. and suffered a 5-4 loss against East Coast Conference rival Dowling College at St. John The Baptist High School in West Islip, N.Y. With the defeat, Molloy slipped to 1-5 on the year. Meanwhile, Dowling now sports an overall clip of 4-2.

WOMEN'S TENNIS DROPS CLOSE 5-4 DECISION AT DOWLING
WEST ISLIP, N.Y. - On Tuesday night, three different players earned wins in singles flights, while the duo of junior Jeana Frey and freshman Gabrielle DiCroce picked up an 8-2 victory in No. 2 doubles. But, it did not prove to be enough as the Molloy College women's tennis squad lost to East Coast Conference rival Dowling College, 5-4, in West Islip, N.Y. As a result, the Lions fell to 1-4 overall and 1-1 in league action, while the Golden Lions are now 3-1 and 2-0 in the ECC.

WOMEN'S TENNIS CAPS ROAD TRIP WITH 6-3 LOSS AT HOLY FAMILY
PHILADELPHIA. Pa. - On Sunday, junior Jeana Frey and sophomore Gabrielle DiCroce paired up for an 8-1 doubles victory, with a singles win apiece, but the Molloy College women's tennis squad ended its season-opening three-match road swing with a 6-3 loss to Holy Family University at the Torresdale Frankford Country Club in Philadelphia, Pa. Frey also checked in with a forfeited victory at the No. 1 singles flight, while DiCroce won in straight sets by identical 6-2 counts for the Lions, who fell to 0-3 on the campaign.

WOMEN'S TENNIS GOES DOWN AT CHESTNUT HILL, 9-0
PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - On Saturday, the Molloy College women's tennis team continued its three-match road swing to start the 2011 campaign in the Keystone State against Chestnut Hill College. However, the Lions fell to the Griffins by a score of 9-0 at the Chestnut Hill Tennis Courts in Philadelphia, Pa. As a result, Molloy slipped to an overall record of 0-2 on the season. Meanwhile, the Griffins rode a torrid start in their opener to begin the year at 1-0.

WOMEN'S TENNIS SUFFERS SEASON-OPENING 7-2 LOSS AT PHILADELPHIA
PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - Sophomore Nikki Gloria picked up right where she left off in No. 3 singles last year on Friday with a 6-4, 3-6, 10-5 triumph, but it was not enough as the Molloy College women's tennis squad dropped a season-opening 7-2 decision against Philadelphia University at the Abraham Salaman '58 Tennis Courts in Philadelphia, Pa. With the loss, the Lions fell to 0-1 on the season. Meanwhile, the Rams improved to 1-1 overall.

WOMEN'S TENNIS LISTED THIRD IN ECC PRESEASON TALLY
CENTRAL ISLIP, N.Y. - Fresh off an appearance in the East Coast Conference Championship match last year, the Molloy College women's tennis team was picked third in the league's annual preseason ledger, released by the conference office on Tuesday night. The Lions finished in back of unanimous favorite Queens College, which is coming off back-to-back ECC titles and an appearance in the NCAA Division II Tournament, as well as Dowling College.
