SLOPER PICKED TO ECC WOMEN'S SOCCER HONOR ROLL

CENTRAL ISLIP, N.Y. (Oct. 4, 2011) - On Monday night, Molloy College sophomore midfielder/forward Allison Sloper (Williston Park, N.Y.) was chosen to the East Coast Conference Women's Soccer Honor Roll for her performances in the Lions' triumphs over Le Moyne College and Queens College last week. She registered a team-leading seven points in the two contests on three goals and one assist. This marks Sloper's first career appearance on the ledger.

Following a three-shot effort in a 1-0 loss versus Lock Haven University on Tuesday, Sloper bounced back the next day with a pair of goals, which were the game-tying and go-ahead tallies, in a 4-2 win versus Le Moyne. On Saturday, she closed out an Honor Roll worthy week with the deciding goal, and an assist in a 2-1 edging of ECC rival Queens.

For the year, Sloper leads the squad in scoring, amassing 13 points (5 G, 3 A) so far. She has also tallied three game-winning markers, which is also a team-high, and ranks 14th-best amongst all of NCAA Division II. In the ECC, the Williston Park local is presently slotted in the Top-10 in each statistical category. Sloper is second in points, and game-winning goals, third in shots and goals, fourth in shots per game and assists, sixth in points and goals per game, and seventh in assists per game.

Sloper and the Lions are in action next on Thursday (Oct. 6) when they travel to Dobbs Ferry, N.Y. to face Mercy College in an ECC clash. Kickoff is scheduled for 3 p.m.
