BROOKVILLE, N.Y. - Graduate Elizabeth Weiss ended in 14th-place in the 5k on Sunday to get the Molloy College women’s cross country squad to a fourth-place run at the 2009 East Coast Conference Championships at C.W. Post in Brookville, N.Y. For her efforts, she took home All-ECC second-team honors. As a team, the Lions earned a total of 105 points. The Knights of Queens College edged out NYIT by one point for tops in the league.

The Lions registered 466 points in the race. They trailed 14th-place team Lebanon Valley College by 76 points. Dickinson College won the invite as it totaled 83 points.

CLEVELAND, OHIO – Last week, the Athletic Directors’ Association announced its recipients of the 2008-09 Academic Achievement Award for Division II, and Molloy College had 29 of its student-athletes recognized out of a total of 4,020 across 115 institutions. In order to obtain this honor, the student-athlete had to achieve a cumulative grade-point average of 3.5 or better. They also needed to attend the institution for at least two years, and be a member of an intercollegiate team during his or her previous academic year.
