WOMENS CROSS COUNTRY PLACES NINTH AT 2009 NYIT INVITATIONAL

FARMINGDALE, N.Y. (Sept. 19, 2009) – On
Saturday, graduate Elizabeth Weiss (Oceanside,
N.Y.) posted a 34th-place clocking of 21:10.70 in the 5k
as the Molloy College women’s cross country team registered a
ninth-place showing at the 2009 New York Institute of Technology
Invite, which was held at Bethpage State Park in Farmingdale, N.Y.
Overall, Weiss’ time ranked in at No. 5 on the All-Time list
for the Lions, who recorded four personal-best marks at the
race.
Freshman Alessandra Gennarini (Farmingdale, N.Y.)
came in 45th-place after crossing at a time of 21:41.20. Sophomore
Alexandra Barrett (Levittown, N.Y.) followed three
seconds behind her with a 21:44.50 clocking. Freshman
Jessica Eberhardt (Lindenhurst, N.Y.) ended up in
59th-place at a time of 22:16.10. Senior Danielle Mosca
(Valley Stream, N.Y.) wrapped up the Top-5 runners for
Molloy after ripping the tape at 22:59.40.
Head Coach Al Kilfoyle and the Lions return to action next Saturday
when they head to New London, Conn. to take part in the Connecticut
College Invitational. The race is slated to begin at 11 a.m.
