WOMENS CROSS COUNTRY NOTCHES 13TH-PLACE SHOWING AT CONNECTICUT COLLEGE INVITATIONAL

WATERFORD, Conn. (Sept. 26, 2009) –
Graduate Elizabeth Weiss (Oceanside, N.Y.) ended
up in 62nd-place in the 6k on Saturday morning as the Molloy
College women’s cross country squad finished 13th at the
Connecticut College Invitational, which took place at Harkness
Memorial State Park in Waterford, Conn. She crossed in a clocking
of 25:10 to help the Lions to a total of 370 points. Brandeis
University snatched the crown with 56 points as three Judges were
in the Top-10.
Sophomore Alexandra Barrett (Levittown, N.Y.) came
in 95th-place with a mark of 26:21. Freshman Jessica
Eberhardt (Lindenhurst, N.Y.) wasn’t far behind as
she had a 112th-place run (26:50). Freshman Alisa Chard
(Anchorage, Alaska) ripped the tape at 27:10, which was
good enough for 122nd-place. Freshman Alessandra Gennarini
(Farmingdale, N.Y.) capped the Top-5 for the Lions in
130th-place (27:33). Freshman Alyssa Fuertes (Levittown,
N.Y.) was two behind her as she clocked in at a time of
27:39. She also paced herself at a mark of 7:25.
Head Coach Al Kilfoyle and his squad return to action next Saturday
when Molloy travels to Newburgh, N.Y. for the Mount Saint Mary
College Invitational. The race is slated to begin at 11 a.m.
