CROSS COUNTY COMPETES AT NCAA REGIONALS

BRONX, NY- The Molloy College men's and women's cross country teams finished their season at the 2007 NCAA Northeast Regionals at Van Cortlandt Park on November 3. The race consisted of teams from the Northeast and several teams who are ranked regionally and/or nationally.

The women's team, who finished in 16th place, was led by senior Danielle Rita (East Meadow, NY) with a time of 25:51 (52nd place). Following Rita was freshman Danielle Mosca (Valley Stream, NY) who took 104th place (29:06). Senior Jennifer Cavallo (Farmingdale, NY) and senior Brittney Clark (East Meadow, NY) placed 116th and 117th, respectively. Sophomore Samantha Portela (Merrick, NY) rounded out the women's team with a 125th place finish (34:47).

On the men's side, sophomore Matthew Badamo (Floral Park, NY) finished first for the Lions with a time of 37:44 (90th place) and helped Molloy to 18th place in the race. Freshman Neal Reff (Massapequa, NY) crossed the finish line in 115th place (39:45) and freshman Pat McCabe (Garden City Park, NY) brought home a 117th place finish (39:49). Junior Brian Gosioco (Bayside, NY) finished the race with a time of 40:03 (129th place), while freshman John Lynch (Oceanside, NY) took a 126th finish (40:54). Rounding out the seven runners were junior Tom Leninger (Merrick, NY) with a time of 41:32 (131st) and senior Tim Cook (Babylon, NY) placed 137th (43:39).
