CROSS COUNTRY OPENS 2007 SEASON AT THE FORDHAM INVITATIONAL

NEW YORK- The Molloy College men's and women's cross country teams opened the 2007 season at the Fordham Invitational held at Van Cortlandt Park. The teams competed against Division I and Division II schools during the Invitational. The men's team finished in 21st place, while the women's team did not qualified for team results.

The men were led by freshman Neal Reff (Massapequa, NY) who placed 207th with a time of 34:09. Senior Tim Cook (Babylon, NY) finished 210th (34:43) and four seconds later, junior Brian Gosioco (Bayside, NY) crossed the finish line (212th). Rounding out the eight Molloy runners were sophomore Matthew Badamo (Floral Park, NY) with a time of 35:04 (216th), freshman John Lynch (Oceanside, NY) who finished 223rd (36:26), junior Thomas Leninger (Merrick, NY) who placed 225th (36:32), Garden City native, Pat McCabe (229th; 37:28) and freshman Dan Naud (Lynbrook, NY) who crossed in 232nd place (43:46).

Senior Danielle Rita (East Meadow, NY) led the women's team and crossed the finish line in 178th place (24:13). Rita was followed by freshman Danielle Mosca (Valley Stream, NY) who took a time of 26:55 (211th). Sophomore Brittany Clark (East Meadow, NY) finished third for the Lady Lions (222nd; 29:24) and senior Jennifer Cavallo (Farmingdale, NY) placed 231st (31:16).
