DOBBS FERRY, NY- Senior Diann Drury (Bellmore, NY) notched 11 kills but it was not enough as the Molloy College volleyball team fell to the Mavericks of Mercy College on October 25. The Lady Lions fall to 13-14 overall and 3-5 in the ECC, while Mercy improves to 9-15 and 1-6.

With game one tied at 13, senior Angela Barra (East Meadow, NY) recorded a kill to give the Lady Lions a 14-13 edge. Molloy would not lose the lead again as they came away with game one, 30-26. However, the Lady Lions went on to drop game two, 30-16, and game three 30-17. Molloy jumped out to an 11-3 advantage in game four but Mercy fought back and eventually tied the game at 20. The Lady Lions and the Mavericks battled back and forth but with the game at 28, Mercy scored the next two points for the 30-28 victory.

Diann Drury led the Lady Lions with 11 kills, while freshman Arielle Wichard (Merrick, NY) added eight kills. Junior Danielle Sekesan (Hicksville, NY) recorded 18 assists and freshman Kara Kerley (Wantagh, NY) had 14 assists. Sophomore Monika Rodziewicz (Gdansk, Poland) notched 12 digs during the four games.

The Lady Lions will travel to Bloomfield College on October 28 for a 12:00 PM non-conference game.
