ROCKVILLE CENTRE, NY- The Molloy College volleyball team was defeated by the Panthers of Adelphi University on October 18 at Quealy Gymnasium. The Lady Lions drop to 11-13 overall and 2-4 in the ECC, while the Panthers improve to 19-5 and 4-2.

Adelphi jumped out to a 13-3 lead in game one, but the Lady Lions fought back and brought their deficit to five (18-13). However, the Panthers would not let Molloy come any closer as they went on a 12-3 run to grab game one, 30-16. A kill by freshman Laura Haynes (Garden City, NY) tied game two at six but Adelphi would regain the lead (18-10). The Lady Lions were unable to catch the Panthers and dropped game two, 30-20. Sophomore Catherine Chave's (Stony Brook, NY) kill evened game three at ten. Molloy and Adelphi battled back and forth for the lead but with the game tied at 20, the Panthers scored 10 straight points to hold onto the victory (30-20).

Junior Danielle Sekesan (Hicksville, NY) handed out 10 assists, while sophomore Monika Rodziewicz (Gdansk, Poland) had 13 digs.

The Lady Lions will travel to Dominican College on October 22 for a 7:00 PM non-conference game.
