WEST HAVEN, CT- The Molloy College volleyball team dropped a conference match to the Chargers of the University of New Haven and a non-conference match to the Devils of the University of the Sciences in a tri-match held by the University of New Haven on October 6. The Lady Lions drop to 7-11 overall and 1-3 in the East Coast Conference.
New Haven (13-3; 3-0) defeated Molloy in three games (21-30, 23-30, 21-30) and then the Lady Lions fell to the Devils (9-10), in five games (30-25, 21-30, 21-30, 30-28, 11-15). In the two games, freshman Laura Haynes (Garden City, NY) led Molloy with 15 kills and added six blocks. Senior Diann Drury (Bellmore, NY) recorded 14 kills in two games, while sophomore Monika Rodziewicz (Gdansk, Poland) had 43 digs. Junior Danielle Sekesan (Hicksville, NY) handed out 29 assists, while freshman Kara Kerley (Wantagh, NY) passed out 25 assists.
The Lady Lions return home to host a non-conference match with Caldwell College on October 9. The first game is scheduled to begin at 7:00 PM.
