Box Score vs. STAC - October 10, 2008

SPARKILL, N.Y. (Oct. 10, 2008) - Senior forward Gillian Fortune (Westbury, N.Y.) tallied a goal and a team-high four shots on Friday evening to help the Molloy College women's soccer team to a 2-1 win over East Coast Conference foe St. Thomas Aquinas College at Herb Reisman Field in Sparkill, N.Y. With the decision, the Lions ended a three-game losing streak and improved to 5-5-1 overall and 3-2 in league action.

Fortune opened up the scoring for Molloy in the eighth-minute when she punched a shot from 18 yards out into the goal. Senior defender/midfielder Joanna Taylor (Seaford, N.Y.) earned her first assist of the 2008 campaign on the play. As for Fortune, that tally gave her a pair for the year. Overall, she has collected seven points thus far, which ranks second on the Lions.

Later on, in the 20th-minute, freshman forward Ashley Kilcommons (Baldwin, N.Y.) picked up her second marker of the season as she connected on a 10-yard shot. Eventually, Molloy went into the locker room with a 2-0 advantage. Kilcommons finished the night with two shots - both of which were on net.
