LAKEWOOD, N.J. (Oct. 18, 2008) - Senior forward Gillian Fortune (Westbury, N.Y.) attempted a game-high four shots on Saturday as the Molloy College women's soccer squad ran its unbeaten streak to three consecutive games with a 0-0 tie against Georgian Court University at GCU Field in Lakewood, N.J. With the draw, Molloy now owns an overall mark of 6-5-2.
Senior midfielder Kristie Caruso (Whitestone, N.Y.) and sophomore midfielder Charlotte Laurie (Huntington, N.Y.) took two shots each. Freshman forward Tove Naslund (Nykoping, Sweden), sophomore midfielder Dianna Geneva (Hicksville, N.Y.), freshman forward Ashley Kilcommons (Baldwin, N.Y.) and senior goaltender/forward Paula Sanelli (Longwood, N.Y.) all had one shot credited to their names.
For Georgian Court (8-6-3), sophomore defender/midfielder Skyler Eiceman (Robesonia, Pa.), freshman forward/midfielder Candace Seaton (Bellport, N.Y.) and senior midfielder Katherine Gooch (Morganville, N.J.) recorded two shots apiece. Freshman goalkeeper/forward Shealyn Sullivan (Buffalo, N.Y.), sophomore midfielder Shannon Mastrogiovanni (Monroe Township, N.J.) and freshman midfielder Kelly Lyons (Jackson, N.J.) tallied one shot.
GCU junior netminder Lindsay Hammond (Brunswick, Maine) made a game-high five saves, while MC senior keeper Christina Aquilon (Queens, N.Y.) turned aside three shots. Molloy also owned a 12-10 margin in shots and a 5-3 edge in corner kicks.
Head Coach Danny Longo and the Lions return to action this Wednesday when they come back home to take on East Coast Conference rival New York Institute of Technology. Kickoff is slated for 6 p.m.
