NEW HAVEN, CT- The Molloy College women's soccer team lost their 2007 ECC opener to the Chargers of the University of New Haven on September 19. The 2-0 loss drops the Lady Lions to an overall record of 2-5-1, while the Chargers improve to 3-2-2 overall and 2-0 in the ECC.
New Haven struck first when Danielle Huffman converted a long pass by Selina Moylan in the first ten minutes of play. The rest of the first half remained scoreless with New Haven getting off ten shots and the Lady Lions recording five shots. The Chargers placed another goal on the scoreboard during the 70th minute when Selina Moylan found the back of the net to give New Haven the 2-0 edge. Junior Christina Aquilon (Queens, NY) notched eight saves in net for Molloy, while New Haven's Mackenzie Bear recorded four saves.
The Lady Lions will return home to host Concordia College on September 22 at the Dean Skelos Sports Complex. The ECC game will begin at 11:00 AM.
