DIVISION I DELAWARE STATE UNIVERSITY DEFEATS WOMEN’S SOCCER

DOVER, DE- The Molloy College women's soccer team was defeated by Division I Delaware State University on September 11 at Alumni Stadium. The Lady Lions fall to 1-4-1 overall, while the Hornets take their first victory (1-3) of the 2007 season.

Less than a minute into the game, Delaware scored their first goal. Six minutes later, the Hornets notched their second goal of the game and extended their lead to two (2-0). The Lady Lions held the Hornets scoreless for the remainder of the first half. However, Delaware went onto record four goals in the second half. Molloy out shot the Hornets, 15-13 but were unable to net a goal as they took the 6-0 non-conference loss. Junior Christina Aquilon (Queens, NY) made six saves in net, while Delaware's Casey Murphy notched seven saves.

Molloy will return to action on Monday, September 17 when they travel to Caldwell College for a 4:00 PM non-conference game.
