DOWLING TAKES ECAC WOMEN'S LACROSSE CHAMPIONSHIP

BROOKHAVEN, N.Y. - Freshmen midfielder
Cassandra Cronin (Islip Terrace, NY) had 5 goals and was named the
games most outstanding player as Dowling defeated Molloy 18-8 in
the Championship game of the ECAC Tournament. With the win, the
Golden Lions end their innagural season 10-5 as Molloy falls to

on the board at the 17:29 mark on a goal by freshman Hayley
Lacey (Levittown, NY) but Cronin and the Dowling offense
would be too much for Molloy. Cronin would net her second of the

to close out the half and give Dowling a 8-2 advantage.

lead to 12-2 with a 4-0 run, the last coming from Stephanie Cotter
(Ridge, NY) on a free position opportunity. Molloy would claw back
and cut the Dowling lead to 9 twice but back-to-back goals from
Vanessa Moreira (Selden, NY) and Cotter put the game out of
reach.
Dowling out shot the Lions 34-22 and won the battle of hustle
stats, owning the advantage in draw controls 16-10 and groundballs
33-19.

trick and ended her season with a team high 48 goals.
