WARGO RECORDS SIX POINTS AS WOMENS LACROSSE FALLS TO GANNON UNIVERSITY

ROCKVILLE CENTRE, NY- Sophomore Kristina Wargo (Hicksville, NY) recorded six points (4 goals; 2 assists) but it was not enough as the Molloy College women's lacrosse team fell to the Golden Knights of Gannon University on April 27.
Gannon (10-4) scored nine of the first ten goals of the game to take the 9-1 lead. Halfway through the first half, sophomore Rebecca LaFlare (Lindenhurst, NY) netted the Lady Lions second goal of the game. During the last four minutes of the first, Wargo and sophomore Kerianne Stiene (Franklin Square, NY) each notched a goal, while Gannon scored one goal. At halftime, Molloy held the 12-5 deficit.
Molloy opened the second half with back-to-back goals and cut their disadvantage to five (12-7). Gannon and the Lady Lions traded the next couple of goals but the Golden Knights sealed the victory when they scored four straight goals to go ahead 18-9. Sophomore Kristie Sosnowski (Massapequa Park, NY) recorded the Lady Lions last goal of the game as Molloy fell, 19-10. Junior Alicia Frisch (Lindenhurst, NY) made seven saves in net for the Lady Lions.
