      <description>ROCKVILLE CENTRE, N.Y. - Locked at 67-all with four-plus minutes to go in regulation, senior forward Kymira Woodberry drained a deuce to put the Molloy College women's basketball squad ahead for good. That coupled with great shooting from the line down the stretch by senior forward E.J. Dreyer sealed a 75-70 win over Wilmington University for the Lions on Tuesday evening in their 2009-10 season opener at Quealy Gymnasium in Rockville Centre, N.Y.</description>

      <description>CENTRAL ISLIP, N.Y. - The Molloy College women's basketball team was selected to come in second place out of eight teams in the East Coast Conference according to its preseason poll, which was released on early Wednesday afternoon. The Lions received 49 points and two first-place votes. They are coming off of a season that saw them register a program-best mark of 21-7 overall and a ledger of 14-4 in league play. Dowling College was picked to capture the crown as it raked in 57 points and four first-place nods.</description>

      <description>LILBURN, Ga. - On Wednesday morning, the Women's Basketball Coaches' Association released the inaugural USA Today/ESPN Division II poll for the 2009-10 season, and Molloy College collected two votes in the tally. Other teams from the East Coast Conference to get votes were Dowling College and Queens College, which scored five and three, respectively. Northeast-10 Conference foes Franklin Pierce University and Stonehill College were ranked in the Top-10, and are on the schedule for the Lions this year.</description>

The Americans took the top prize following a 68-44 win versus the host Israelis. The two teams met a day earlier in a qualifying round with Team USA coming out on top again, 72-54.</description>

      <description>CLEVELAND, OHIO - Last week, the Athletic Directors' Association announced its recipients of the 2008-09 Academic Achievement Award for Division II, and Molloy College had 29 of its student-athletes recognized out of a total of 4,020 across 115 institutions. In order to obtain this honor, the student-athlete had to achieve a cumulative grade-point average of 3.5 or better. They also needed to attend the institution for at least two years, and be a member of an intercollegiate team during his or her previous academic year.</description>

But, it was unable to complete the comeback as the Lions fell by a 58-56 final to the Golden Lions of Dowling College in an East Coast Conference Tournament semifinal at the Center for Recreation and Sport in Garden City, N.Y. Molloy went to 21-7 overall in the decision, while Dowling improved to 22-7.</description>
