WOODBERRY NAMED EAST COAST CONFERENCE PLAYER OF THE YEAR

CENTRAL ISLIP, NY- Sophomore Kymira Woodberry (Boston, MA) has been named the 2007-08 East Coast Conference Player of the Year, along with receiving First Team All-Conference honors. Senior Randi Bender (North Bellmore, NY) was selected to the All-Conference Second Team.

Woodberry, who was named the 2006-07 ECC Rookie of the Year, is averaging a double-double with 17.3 points per game and 10.7 rebounds per game for the 2007-08 season. She has obtained four ECC/Baden Player of the Week honors. Woodberry leads the team with 449 points, 279 rebounds and 23 blocks while adding 41 steals and 53 assists. Bender ranks first on the squad with 64 three pointers and second with 390 points (13.9 ppg) and 76 assists.
