SYDOR NAMED ECAC ROOKIE OF THE YEAR

ROCKVILLE CENTRE, NY- Freshman Alexandra Sydor (Glen Cove, NY) was named the 2008 ECAC (Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference) Rookie of the Year.  Sydor,who was also named the East Coast Conference Rookie of the Year, led the Lady Lions with a .400 batting average and 56 hits, while she placed second on the team with 31 RBI, 30 runs scored and a .493 slugging percentage.  In her 140 at-bats this season, Sydor recorded only four strikeouts.  In the East Coast Conference, Sydor finished third in on-base percentage and fourth in batting average.  In the NCAA Division II, she finished 14^th in toughest to strikeout.
