LARKIN WINS SECOND-PLACE KUDOS IN OPEN FLAT AS EQUESTRIAN TAKES PART IN HOFSTRA SHOW

MEDFORD, N.Y. (Oct. 19, 2009) - Sophomore Megan Larkin (Rockville Centre, N.Y.) rode to a second-place showing in the open flat on Sunday as the Molloy College equestrian team participated in the Hofstra University Show at Country Farms in Medford, N.Y. Overall, the Lions got five of its riders in the Top-6. Sophomore Katherine Geldert (Malverne, N.Y.) ended up in third place in the walk-trot. Meanwhile, sophomore Theresa Hempstead (East Rockaway, N.Y.) trotted in the same event, but did not place.
Freshman Mary Migliore (Syosset, N.Y.) won a fourth-place ribbon. Juniors Erica Krilov (Woodbury, N.Y.) and Emily Geannikis (Baldwin, N.Y.) earned sixth-place honors in the intermediate flat and the advanced walk-trot-canter, respectively. Larkin, Krilov and Migliore also competed in other events, but did not place.
Head Coach Carole Gerrity and the Lions return to action this Sunday when they take part in the Stony Brook University Show at the Olde Towne Equestrian Center in Melville, N.Y. Action is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m.
