EQUESTRIAN HOSTS ANNUAL SHOW; GELDERT HIGHLIGHTS DAY WITH SPOT AT REGIONALS

MELVILLE, N.Y. (Nov. 2, 2009) - On Sunday, sophomore Katherine Geldert (Malverne, N.Y.) secured a bid to the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association Regional Show with her third-place ribbon in the walk-trot as the Molloy College equestrian team hosted its show at the Thomas School of Horsemanship in Melville, N.Y. She joins junior Erica Krilov (Woodbury, N.Y.) on the list, who has qualified for the regionals in the novice flat and fences.
Krilov had a second-place ride in the intermediate fences and a fifth-place performance in the intermediate flat. Sophomore Theresa Hempstead (East Rockaway, N.Y.) posted a second-place finish as well in the walk-trot. Sophomore Megan Larkin (Rockville Centre, N.Y.) and freshman Mary Migliore (Syosset, N.Y.) placed reserve in their respective events. Larkin's was in the open over fences, while Migliore in the novice flat.
Head Coach Carole Gerrity and the Lions return to action next Sunday when they head to Bethel, Conn. to cap off the fall portion of their schedule at the Sacred Heart University Show at River's Edge Farm. The riders are scheduled to saddle up at 9 a.m.
