KRILOV GRIPS FIRST PLACE IN NOVICE FENCES AS EQUESTRIAN TAKES PART IN YALE AND SACRED HEART SHOW

BETHANY, Conn. (Nov. 10, 2008) - Sophomore Erica Krilov (Woodbury, N.Y.) posted a first-place showing in the novice fences on Sunday morning to push the Molloy College equestrian team to a fourth-place ride out of 12 schools at the Yale and Sacred Heart Show, which took place at River's Edge Farm in Bethany, Conn. Overall, the Lions compiled a total team score of 26.
Krilov had nine points for Molloy on the day with a fifth-place performance as well in the novice flat. Sophomore Katherine Geldert (Malverne, N.Y.) earned second-place honors in the walk-trot. Senior Danielle Peterson (West Islip, N.Y.) and sophomore Emily Geannikis (Baldwin, N.Y.) each registered fourth-place points in the beginner walk-trot-cantor.
Also coming in fourth was freshman Megan Larkin (Rockville Centre, N.Y.) in the open fences. Senior Sara Rhindress (New Hyde Park, N.Y.) scored two points for the Lions with a fifth-place ride in the beginner walk-trot-cantor. Ultimately, freshman Cynthia Sollin (Valley Stream, N.Y.) ended up sixth in the novice flat to cap off the show for Molloy.
Head Coach Carole Gerrity and the Lions return to action this Sunday when they close out the fall portion of their schedule at the Columbia University Show in Leonia, N.J. The riders are scheduled to saddle up at 9 a.m.
