KRILOVS NOVICE FLAT WIN PUSHES EQUESTRIAN TO SEASON-BEST RIDE AT STONY BROOK SHOW

SELDEN, N.Y. (Oct. 27, 2008) - For the second time this year, sophomore Erica Krilov (Woodbury, N.Y.) received a first-place ribbon in the novice flat to lift the Molloy College equestrian team to a score of 36 points, which was a season-high, on Sunday in the Stony Brook University Show at the Olde Towne Equestrian Center in Selden, N.Y.
Sophomore Katherine Geldert (Malverne, N.Y.) registered five points with a second-place ride in the walk-trot. Senior Sara Rhindress (New Hyde Park, N.Y.) and sophomore Katie Dempsey (Garden City, N.Y.) took part in the same event as well. Rhindress ended up in third-place, while Dempsey picked up three points with a fourth-place performance.
Three different riders also snatched fourth-place ribbons. They were freshman Cynthia Sollin (Valley Stream, N.Y.) in the novice flat and fences, freshman Megan Larkin (Rockville Centre, N.Y.) in the open flat and senior Georgette Durand (Jamaica, N.Y.) in the advanced walk-trot-cantor. Larkin also placed fifth in the open fences - amassing five points for the Lions.
Lastly, sophomore Emily Geannikis (Baldwin, N.Y.) and senior Danielle Peterson (West Islip, N.Y.) combined for three points in the beginner walk-trot-cantor after contributing fifth- and sixth-place performances, respectively.
Head Coach Carole Gerrity and her squad return to action this Sunday when Molloy hosts its annual show at the Thomas School of Horsemanship in Melville, N.Y. The riders are scheduled to saddle up at 9 a.m.
