PETERSON PLACES SECOND IN WALK-TROT AS EQUESTRIAN TAKES PART IN ST. JOSEPH’S SHOW

Results - St. Joseph's Show - October 5, 2008

YAPHANK, N.Y. (Oct. 6, 2008) - Senior Danielle Peterson (West Islip, N.Y.) registered five points with a second-place performance in the walk-trot on Sunday as the Molloy College equestrian squad rode in the St. Joseph's (L.I.) College Show at Good Shepherd Farm in Yaphank, N.Y. Overall, the Lions amassed a team score of 21 points.

Sophomore Erica Krilov (Woodbury, N.Y.) took fourth in the novice fences. She also ended up in reserve in the novice flat. Freshman Megan Larkin (Rockville Centre, N.Y.) totaled six points with a pair of fourth-place rides in the open flat and open fences.

Senior co-captains Georgette Durand (Jamaica, N.Y.) and Meghan White (Hicksville, N.Y.) finished in fourth- and fifth-place, respectively, in the advanced walk-trot-canter. Freshman Cynthia Sollin (Valley Stream, N.Y.) rounded out the scoring for the Lions by bringing home a fifth-place ribbon in the novice flat.

Head Coach Carole Gerrity and the Lions return to action this Sunday when they compete in the Nassau Community College Show at the Sweet Hills Riding Center in Huntington, N.Y.
