SOLLIN TAKES SECOND IN NOVICE FLAT AS EQUESTRIAN COMPETES AT NASSAU COMMUNITY SHOW

CENTRAL ISLIP, N.Y. (Feb. 23, 2008) - On Sunday, freshman Cynthia Sollin (Valley Stream, N.Y.) rode her way to a second-place finish in the novice flat as the Molloy College equestrian team took part in the Nassau Community College Show at the Parkview Riding Center in Central Islip, N.Y. Sollin notched five points in the event to bring her earned class total to 25.
Senior Danielle Peterson (West Islip, N.Y.) and sophomore Katie Dempsey (Garden City, N.Y.) won third-place ribbons in the beginner walk-trot-canter and walk-trot, respectively. Senior Sara Rhindress (New Hyde Park, N.Y.) performed in the beginner walk-trot-cantor as well, but placed fifth. Lastly, sophomore Katherine Geldert (Malverne, N.Y.) earned fourth-place honors in the walk-trot.
Head Coach Carole Gerrity and the Lions return to action on March 8 when they head to Islandia, N.Y. for the Dowling College Show. The riders are scheduled to saddle up at 8 a.m.
