FOUR RIDERS PLACE THIRD AS EQUESTRIAN HOSTS ANNUAL SHOW

MELVILLE, N.Y. (Nov. 3, 2008) - Seniors Sara Rhindress (New Hyde Park, N.Y.) and Danielle Peterson (West Islip, N.Y.) as well as freshman Megan Larkin (Rockville Centre, N.Y.) came in third place in their respective events on Sunday as the Molloy College equestrian team hosted its annual show at the Thomas School of Horsemanship in Melville, N.Y.

Rhindress earned four points in the walk-trot, Peterson took part in the beginner walk-trot-cantor and Larkin, who also ended up in fourth in the open flat, rode in the open fence. Sophomore Erica Krilov (Woodbury, N.Y.) snatched a third-place ribbon as well, but in the novice flat. She also got fourth-place honors in the novice fences.

Sophomores Katie Dempsey (Garden City, N.Y.) and Katherine Geldert (Malverne, N.Y.) combined for six points after they each finished fourth in the walk-trot. Senior Georgette Durand (Jamaica, N.Y.) and sophomore Emily Geannikis (Baldwin, N.Y.) notched fifth-place showings in the advanced and beginner walk-trot-cantor, respectively. Senior Meghan White (Hicksville, N.Y.) credited one point to the Lions' total score of 33 with a sixth-place ride in the novice flat.

Head Coach Carole Gerrity and her squad return to action next Sunday when Molloy travels to Bethany, Conn. for the Yale and Sacred Heart Universities Show. The riders are scheduled to saddle up at 9 a.m.
