RHINDRESS TAKES HOME FIRST-PLACE RIBBON AS EQUESTRIAN COMPETES AT HOFSTRA SHOW

MEDFORD, N.Y. (Oct. 21, 2008) - Senior Sara Rhindress (New Hyde Park, N.Y.) notched a first-place showing in the walk-trot on Sunday morning as the Molloy College equestrian team rode in the Hofstra Show at the Country Farm in Medford, N.Y. She raked in seven points for the Lions, who totaled 29 points on the day.
Senior Danielle Peterson (West Islip, N.Y.) and sophomore Katie Dempsey (Garden City, N.Y.) combined for three points with a fifth- and sixth-place finish in the walk-trot, respectively. Sophomore Erica Krilov (Woodbury, N.Y.) ended up second in the novice fences. Freshman Cynthia Sollin (Valley Stream, N.Y.) placed second as well, but in the novice flat.
Sophomore Emily Geannikis (Baldwin, N.Y.) amassed four points with a third-place ride in the beginner walk-trot-cantor. Senior Georgette Durand (Jamaica, N.Y.) won a fourth-place ribbon in the advanced walk-trot-cantor. Lastly, freshman Megan Larkin (Rockville Centre, N.Y.) came in fifth place in the open fences.
Head Coach Carole Gerrity and the Lions return to action this Sunday when they take part in the Stony Brook University Show at the Olde Towne Equestrian Center in Selden, N.Y. The riders will saddle up at 9 a.m.
