SOLLIN WINS FIRST-PLACE RIBBON IN NOVICE FLAT AS EQUESTRIAN RIDES AT DOWLING SHOW

ISLANDIA, N.Y. (Mar. 9, 2009) - After finishing second in her previous performance, freshman Cynthia Sollin (Valley Stream, N.Y.) posted a first-place showing in the novice flat on Sunday morning as the Molloy College equestrian team competed at the Dowling College Show, which took place at Islandia Farms in Islandia, N.Y. She also placed sixth in the novice fences as the Lions accumulated a total team score of 13.

Senior Sara Rhindress (New Hyde Park, N.Y.) picked up two points following a fifth-place ride in the beginner walk-trot-canter. Finishing one spot behind her were sophomore Emily Geannikis (Baldwin, N.Y.) and senior Danielle Petersen (West Islip, N.Y.). Sophomore Katie Dempsey (Garden City, N.Y.) earned a sixth-place ride in the walk-trot to cap off the scoring for Molloy.

Head Coach Carole Gerrity and the Lions will now await word on a possible appearance in the Regional Show. Date and time will be announced as soon as information becomes available.
