MCLAUGHLIN TABBED AS GRADUATE ASSISTANT COACH AT SACRED HEART August 10, 2010 FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Former Molloy College women’s basketball standout Jenna McLaughlin was recently named the graduate assistant coach at Division I and Northeast Conference program Sacred Heart University. She joins the Pioneers after a three-year playing career with the Lions, winning a pair of East Coast Conference titles in that time. O’HAGAN, WHEELER AND MARRA TO COMPETE IN 2010 EMPIRE STATE GAMES July 19, 2010 NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. – On Wednesday, Head Coach Tim O’Hagan in addition to senior Caitlin Wheeler and sophomore Christina Marra of the Molloy College women’s basketball team will be leaving for Niagara Falls, N.Y. to play in the 2010 Empire State Games. The largest competition of its kind in the country, the Empire State Games, which will be held on the campus of Niagara University, is a multi-sport event for amateur athletes, patterned after the Olympic program. WOMEN’S BASKETBALL TAKES HOME INAUGURAL ECC SPORTSMANSHIP AWARD June 14, 2010 CENTRAL ISLIP, N.Y. – Head Coach Tim O’Hagan and the Molloy College women’s basketball team were recently voted the winners of the 2010 East Coast Conference Sportsmanship Award. The accolade recognizes a team or individual that best exemplifies the spirit of sportsmanship, and has conducted themselves with a high level of integrity, character, and class as displayed in a single action or throughout the season. DREYER RECEIVES ECC SCHOLAR-ATHLETE OF THE YEAR RECOGNITION June 11, 2010 CENTRAL ISLIP, N.Y. – On Friday morning, senior forward E.J. Dreyer was announced as both the East Coast Conference Women’s Basketball and Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year. In 2009-10, the Molloy College valedictorian, who majored in Nursing, recorded a grade-point average of 4.0, while helping to lead the Lions to an ECC crown, and NCAA Division II Tournament appearance. Dreyer also garnered All-East Coast Conference and All-Met second-team accolades for her efforts on the hardwood. [READ MORE]
