ROCKVILLE CENTRE, NY- Junior Michelle Walsh (Bellerose, NY) was named to the CoSIDA/ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District Team, garnered Daktronics All-Region Second Team and was selected to the Louisville Slugger/NFCA All-Region Second Team.

WALSH SELECTED AS APRIL FEMALE ATHLETE OF THE MONTH
ROCKVILLE CENTRE, NY- Junior softball player, Michelle Walsh (Bellerose, NY) was named the April Female Athlete of the Month. The 5-5 second baseman obtained a .405 batting average, recorded 32 hits including 5 doubles, four triples and five homeruns, 15 RBI, 20 runs scored, a .759 slugging percentage and was 4-5 on the base path.

SOFTBALL FINISHES 2008 SEASON WITH TWO LOSSES
ROCKVILLE CENTRE, NY- The Molloy College softball team ended their 2008 season with two conference losses to the Pioneers of C.W. Post on April 26. The Lady Lions finish the season with a 22-24 overall record and an 8-12 East Coast Conference record, while the Pioneers improve to 39-14 and 16-2.

SOFTBALL SPLITS WITH DOWLING; WALSH HITS HOMERUN DURING GAME TWO
ROCKVILLE CENTRE, NY- On April 24, the Molloy College softball team defeated the Golden Lions of Dowling College in game one, 2-0, but would fall in game two, 11-1. With the split, the Lady Lions are now 22-22 overall and 8-10 in the ECC, while the Golden Lions are 26-24 and 8-8.

OLD WESTBURY, NY- The Molloy College softball team dropped an East Coast Conference doubleheader to the Bears of New York Institute of Technology on April 22. The two conference losses drop the Lady Lions to 21-21 overall and 7-9 in league play, while the Bears improve to 25-13 and 7-8.

ROCKVILLE CENTRE, NY- The Molloy College softball team swept the Rams of Philadelphia University in non-conference action on April 19. The two victories improves the Lady Lions to 20-18, while the Rams fall to 12-21 on the season.

PHILADELPHIA, PA- The Molloy College softball team took game one, 6-3, while the Tigers of Holy Family University won game two, 5-1 in a non-conference doubleheader on April 17. The Lady Lions now hold a 18-18 overall record, while the Tigers are 14-14.

WILMINGTON, DE- Freshman Alexander Sydor (Glen Cove, NY) knocked in six RBI to help the Molloy College softball team sweep the Lightning of Goldey-Beacom College on April 13. The two non-conference victories improve the Lady Lions to 16-16 overall, while the Lightning fall to 7-20.

SYDOR NAMED ECC/BADEN ROOKIE OF THE WEEK FOR SOFTBALL
CENTRAL ISLIP, NY- In a 4-4 week for the Molloy College softball team, freshman Allie Sydor (Glen Cove, NY) hit .536 (15-28, 7 R) with 16 RBI and slugged .679. She went 3 for 4 (6 RBI, R) in a 13-2 win over Bentley. In the 16-2 game win over Goldey-Beacom, she was 3 for 4 (3 RBI, 2 R) and in game two added three hits (3 RBI, R). In a doubleheader loss to Bridgeport, she knocked in two and added two hits in game two.

WALSH, SYDOR PROPEL SOFTBALL TO SWEEP OF BENTLEY, 9-2 and 13-2
WALTHAM, Mass. – Junior Michelle Walsh (Bellerose, N.Y.) scored three times in each game, and freshman shortstop Alexandra Sydor (Glen Cove, N.Y.) drove in six runs in the nightcap, as Molloy College swept a pair from Bentley, 9-2 and 13-2, in a non-conference softball doubleheader at Bentley Friday afternoon. The second game was stopped after five innings due to the eight-run rule.

ROCKVILLE CENTRE, NY- The Molloy College softball team dropped a conference doubleheader to the Purple Knights of the University of Bridgeport on April 8. With the two losses, the Lady Lions drop to 12-16 overall and 6-6 in the conference, while Bridgeport improves to 9-12 and 4-2.

ROCKVILLE CENTRE, NY- The Molloy College softball team held a clinic for local youth teams on Sunday, March 30. Coaches and members of the softball team taught and demonstrated softball skills to players of the Babylon Youth Fastpitch Softball League, the Massapequa Little League and the Levittown Athletic Club.

LODI, NJ- Junior Amanda Havdoglous (North Babylon, NY) recorded five RBI to lead the Molloy College softball team to a 9-2 game two victory over the Falcons of Felician College on April 3. The Lady Lions (12-12) fell to the Falcons (7-12) in game one.

The Lady Lions took game one, 5-0.

The Lady Lions took game one, 10-3. With the two conference victories, Molloy now holds a 9-9 overall record and a 4-0 East Coast Conference record, while the Lady Knights drop to 7-11 and 3-3.

The Lady Lions now hold a 5-7 overall record, while the Yellow Jackets are now 7-4.

MOLLOY COLLEGE INKS FIVE PLAYERS DURING EARLY SIGNING PERIOD
ROCKVILLE CENTRE, NY- Head softball coach Susan Cassidy-Lyke announced the signing of three players for the 2009 season, while head women’s basketball coach, Tim O’Hagan inked one player for the 2008-09 season and head men’s basketball coach, Charles Marquardt added one to his squad list. Joining the Lions as the class of 2012 are Carla Campagna (Floral Park, NY), Meghan Karpinski (Hicksville,NY), Allison Ryan (Seaford, NY), Molly Dreyer (Floral Park, NY) and Kevin Walsh (West Hempstead, NY).
