JOHNSON, ADEBOWALE EARN USTFCCCA OUTDOOR ALL-REGION KUDOS
NEW ORLEANS, La. - On Wednesday, the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association handed out its inaugural All-Region outdoor accolades, and a member of both the Molloy College men's and women's outdoor track and field squads were recognized. Freshman Joe Johnson was tabbed as one of the region's Top-5 in the decathlon, while junior Atinuke Adebowale brought home honors in the triple jump.

MEN’S OUTDOOR TRACK & FIELD COMPETES IN 4 x 400 RELAY AT PENN RELAYS
PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – On Friday afternoon, the Molloy College men’s outdoor track and field team ran in the Penn Relays, which were held at Franklin Field on the campus of University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, Pa. During the meet, the group of freshman Joe Johnson, sophomore Daniel Brennan, junior Michael Colucci and senior Patrick McCabe ran a clocking of 3:31.41 in the 4 x 400-meter relay.

DISTANCE RUNNERS HIGHLIGHT MEN’S OUTDOOR TRACK & FIELD’S EFFORT AT ALL-AMERICAN INVITE
EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. – Freshman Nick Filippazzo finished first in the 1,500-meter run, while graduate Matthew Badamo came in second place in the 5,000-meter run on Saturday as the Molloy College men’s outdoor track and field team partook in the All-American Invitational, held at East Stroudsburg University in East Stroudsburg, Pa. Filippazzo crossed at a clocking of 15:12.51 in the 5,000. Badamo posted a time of 4:04.09 in the 1,500.

MEN’S OUTDOOR TRACK & FIELD PLACES FIFTH AT CTC CHAMPIONSHIPS
CENTER VALLEY, Pa. – On Sunday morning, the Molloy College men’s outdoor track and field squad had an outstanding performance at the Collegiate Track Conference Championships, winning five events en route to a fifth-place run at the meet, which was hosted by Richard Stockton College at DeSales University in Center Valley, Pa. Freshman Nick Filippazzo paced the Lions as he picked up victories in the 5,000- and 10,000-meter run with clockings of 15:38.36 and 33:05.87, respectively.

BADAMO, DIOGUARDI RECORD FIRST-PLACE FINISHES AS MEN’S OUTDOOR TRACK & FIELD RUNS AT ROWAN OPEN
GLASSBORO, N.J. – On Friday, graduate Matthew Badamo and freshman Michael DioGuardi checked in respective first-place showings in the 1,500-meter run, and 3,000-meter steeplechase to lead the Molloy College men’s outdoor track and field team at the Rowan University Open, held at Coach Wackar Stadium in Glassboro, N.J. Badamo posted a time of 4:09.59, while DioGuardi had a clocking of 10:30.04.

OUTDOOR TRACK & FIELD LISTED NINTH IN FIRST USTFCCCA REGIONAL POLL
NEW ORLEANS, La. – On Tuesday morning, the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association put out its first regional index of the 2011 outdoor year, and Molloy College was ranked ninth on the men’s and women’s polls with 143.26 and 160.37 points, respectively. The Lions narrowly edged University of New Haven on the men’s side by a slim margin of just over two points on the ledger.

JOHNSON’S THIRD-PLACE LONG JUMP PACES MEN’S OUTDOOR TRACK & FIELD AT WAGNER INVITATIONAL
STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. – Freshman Joe Johnson came in third place out of 21 runners in the long jump on Saturday as the Molloy College men’s outdoor track and field squad partook in the Wagner College Invitational, which was held at Wagner Stadium in Staten Island, N.Y. He leapt a distance of 6.31 meters, just five inches short of New York City College of Technology’s Kayode Joseph for first.

MEN’S OUTDOOR TRACK & FIELD WINS FOUR EVENTS AT FARMINGDALE INVITE
FARMINGDALE, N.Y. – On Saturday morning, the Lions had three different runners notch first-place performances as the Molloy College men’s outdoor track and field squadron competed in the Farmingdale State College Invitational at Rams Field on the school's campus in Farmingdale, N.Y. The 4 x 400-meter relay team of senior Patrick McCabe, sophomore Daniel Brennan as well as freshmen Joe Johnson and Mario Buscemi also won with a time of 3:34.27.

FILIPPAZZO WINS 5,000-METER RUN; MEN’S OUTDOOR TRACK & FIELD COMPETES IN OSPREY OPEN
POMONA, N.J. – On Saturday, freshman Nick Filippazzo notched a first-place showing in the 5,000-meter run to pace the Molloy College men’s outdoor track and field team at the Osprey Open, which was held on the Richard Stockton College campus in Pomona, N.J. He posted a mark of 15.05.71, which bested Matthew Walsh’s school record from last season at the Wagner College Invitational on April 4 by 43 seconds.

MEN’S OUTDOOR TRACK & FIELD KICKS OFF 2011 SEASON AT QCC RELAYS
BAYSIDE, N.Y. – On Saturday, the Molloy College men's outdoor track and field team saw its 4 x 800-meter and distance medley relay squads record first-place showings, and notch new school records in the process to pace the Lions at the Queensborough Community College Relays, held on the school's campus in Bayside, N.Y. Molloy also checked in two other new school records, and shattered the former marks in the 4 x 100- and 400-meter relays.
