WALSH'S 5,000-METER RUN POWERS MEN’S OUTDOOR TRACK & FIELD AT FARMINGDALE STATE INVITE

FARMINGDALE, N.Y. (Mar. 27, 2010) – Graduate Matthew Walsh (Wantagh, N.Y.) had a second-place showing in the 5,000-meter run on Saturday with a mark of 15:57 as the Molloy College men’s outdoor track and field team posted six new school records at the Farmingdale State College Invitational in Farmingdale, N.Y. Senior Matthew Badamo (Floral Park, N.Y.) contributed a third-place effort in the 1,500-meter run with a 4:11.10.

During the 800-meter run, freshman Mike McShane (Westbury, N.Y.) notched a clocking of 2:13.70. The grouping of McShane and Badamo in addition to freshmen Daniel Brennan (Lindenhurst, N.Y.) and Eric Wong (Massapequa Park, N.Y.) worked to record a time of 3:43.80 in the 4x400-meter relay. Brennan and Wong then teamed up with senior Anthony Dalli (Valley Stream, N.Y.) and junior Daniel Naud (Lynbrook, N.Y.) in the 4x100 race (46.59).

In the field events, Wong threw the javelin a distance of 110 feet (33.5 meters). Junior Alex Ashley (Bellmore, N.Y.) heaved the shot put 26 feet and seven inches (8.1 meters).

Head Coach Al Kilfoyle and the Lions return to action this Friday when they head across the Verrazano Bridge to Staten Island, N.Y. for the Wagner College Invitational. The meet is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m.
