MAIONE SELECTED BY LONG ISLAND LIZARDS IN 2010 MLL COLLEGIATE DRAFT

NEW HAVEN, Conn. On Sunday night, Major League Lacrosse held its 10th-annual Collegiate Draft on the campus of Yale University, and senior midfielder Albert Maione of Molloy College was a seventh-round choice of the Long Island Lizards. This marks the second year in a row that a Lion has been drafted into the MLL. Former standout Keith Galante, who played from 2006-09, was selected in the fourth round by Long Island last season.

BALTIMORE, Md. - One day after garnering USILA All-America Honorable Mention distinction, senior midfielder Albert Maione of the Molloy College men's lacrosse squad struck for two tallies in the 2010 LaxWorld/USILA North/South All-Star Game, which was held on Friday at Beldon Field on the campus of Goucher University in Baltimore, Md. Later that night, he was recognized for his All-America award in a banquet at the Marriott Waterfront Hotel.

PERRY, N.Y. On Thursday morning, senior midfielder Albert Maione of the Molloy College mens lacrosse squad received All-America Honorable Mention recognition from the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association for his offensive play in the 2010 campaign. He was also selected to play in the annual USILA North-South All-Star Game. For the season, Maione totaled a team-high 50 points on 30 goals and 20 assists. In addition, he accumulated 34 ground balls and seven caused turnovers.

CENTRAL ISLIP, N.Y. - On Thursday, the East Coast Conference released its All-ECC teams for the 2010 men's lacrosse campaign, and Molloy College was honored with three players, who received recognition from the league's 11 head coaches. Senior midfielder Albert Maione led up the charge with a first-team nod, while junior defenseman Joe Vissichelli and senior attackman/midfielder Matt Dolan raked in second-team, and honorable mention accolades, respectively.
