WOMEN’S CROSS COUNTRY ENDS UP IN 15TH PLACE AT DESALES INVITE

CENTER VALLEY, Pa. (Oct. 10, 2009) - Graduate Elizabeth Weiss (Oceanside, N.Y.) recorded a clocking of 26:05.75 in the 6k on Saturday afternoon, which was good for 65th-place, to power the Molloy College women's cross country squad to a 15th-place result at the DeSales University Invitational in Center Valley, Pa. The Lions registered 466 points in the race. They trailed 14th-place team Lebanon Valley College by 76 points. Dickinson College won the invite as it totaled 83 points.

Freshman Jessica Eberhardt (Lindenhurst, N.Y.) ran her way to a 124th-place performance as she notched a mark of 26:13.76. Senior Danielle Mosca (Valley Stream, N.Y.) jogged on in four runners after her with a time of 28:22.28. Junior Alisa Chard (Anchorage, Alaska) placed 142nd (28:50.29). Sophomore Heather Mitchell (Oceanside, N.Y.) and freshman Stefanie Macaluso (Lynbrook, N.Y.) wrapped up the group for Molloy in succession. Mitchell took 148th-place (29:04.30), while Macaluso ripped the tape in 149th with her 29:05.34.

Head Coach Al Kilfoyle and the Lions return to action this Saturday when they run at the St. John's University Invitational.  The race is slated to get underway at 10 a.m.
