MENS AND WOMENS CROSS COUNTRY FINISHES 7th IN ECC CHAMPIONSHIP
BRONX, NY- The Molloy College men's and women's cross county teams each finished in seventh place during the East Coast Conference Championships on October 20 at Van Cortlandt Park. NYIT took home the ECC Championship for the men's side, while Adelphi University earned the top spot for the women.
Freshman Neal Reff (Massapequa, NY) led the pack for the men's team with a time of 31:47 (36th place). Sophomore Matthew Badamo (Floral Park, NY) crossed the finish line in 39th place (32:37). Junior Brian Gosioco (Bayside, NY), freshman Daniel Naud (Lynbrook, NY) and freshman Patrick McCabe (Garden City Park, NY) placed 44th, 45th, and 46th, respectively. Senior Tim Cook (Babylon, NY) took a 48th finish (33:04). Following Cook was junior Thomas Leninger (Merrick, NY) with a time of 33:38 (49th place), while freshman John Lynch (Oceanside, NY) rounded out the eight runners (53rd/34:43).
Senior Danielle Rita (East Meadow, NY) led the Lady Lions with a time of 22:11.27 (21st place), while freshman Danielle Mosca (Valley Steam, NY) took home a 38th place finish (24:12.55). Senior Jennifer Cavallo (Farmingdale, NY) crossed the finish line in 48th (26:00.46) and sophomore Brittney Clark (East Meadow, NY) finished with a time of 26:14.53 (50th place). Sophomore Samantha Portela (Merrick, NY) ended the race in 57th place (29:36.50).
The Lions will race in their last competition of the season on November 3 when they run in the 2007 Northeast Regionals at Van Cortlandt Park.
