CENTRAL ISLIP, N.Y. – Following last week’s showings, senior midfielder Jose Batista and freshman goalkeeper Michael Hunter were dubbed the East Coast Conference Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week, respectively. FLUSHING, N.Y. – On Wednesday afternoon, the Molloy College men’s soccer squad suffered its second-straight defeat with a 5-1 loss to East Coast Conference foe Queens College at the Queens Soccer Field in Flushing, N.Y. The Lions have now gone to an overall record of 4-7-1 and a league mark of 1-3. They also have losses in four of their last six games. But, it was not enough as the Lions fell to the 18th-ranked Lakers of Mercyhurst College by a final of 2-1 on Saturday afternoon at Mercyhurst Field in Erie, Pa. With the loss, the Lions dropped to an overall record of 3-4-1. As for the Lakers, they improved to 7-2 on the 2009 campaign.
