CENTRAL ISLIP, N.Y. – The East Coast Conference announced its year-end honors on Monday morning for men’s soccer, and senior midfielder Jose Batista of Molloy College was dubbed the offensive player of the year by the league. Batista claims the honor after posting a 2009 campaign that saw him rake a team-leading 28 points on 12 goals and four assists. He also led the ECC in points per game at an average of 2.0. The Lions have now gone to an overall record of 4-7-1 and a league mark of 1-3. They also have losses in four of their last six games.
