GALANTE AND HUMANN PICK UP ECC HONORS

CENTRAL ISLIP, NY- Junior Keith Galante (Plainedge, NY) was selected to the All-ECC First Team, while senior Rob Humann (Hicksville, NY) earned All-ECC Second Team honors. Galante led the team with 27 goals, 26 assists and 53 points. In the East Coast Conference, he was ranked fourth in assists per game, fifth in points per game and ninth in goals per game. He is ranked seventh in the NCAA Division II in assists per game and tenth in points per game. Humann saw 686:34 minutes between the pipes as he obtained a GAA of 9.44 and recorded 134 saves. He was second in the ECC in saves per game, fourth in GAA and fifth in save percentage. In the NCAA Division II, Humann is tenth in goals against average and 14th in save percentage.



MASSAPEQUA, NY- The Molloy College men’s lacrosse team ended their 2008 season with a 16-6 victory over the Chargers of Dominican College on April 26 at Burns Park in Massapequa. The Lions finish their season with a 5-8 overall record and a 1-5 East Coast Conference record, while the Chargers now hold a 5-8 overall record and a 0-4 conference record.

ROCKVILLE CENTRE, NY- Senior Brian Tempone (Merrick, NY) scored two goals and senior Kevin Meekins (Levittown, NY) notched one goal on senior day for the Molloy College men’s lacrosse team but the Lions fell to the Pioneers of C.W. Post on April 19. The 13-12 loss drops the Lions to 4-8 overall and 0-5 in the ECC, while the Pioneers improve to 9-3 and 2-2.
