PACE TAKES VICTORY OVER MEN’S LACROSSE

PLEASANTVILLE, NY- The Molloy College men's lacrosse team dropped a non-conference game to the Setters of Pace University on April 2. With the 13-7 loss, Molloy falls to 4-5 overall, while the Setters improved to 4-3.

The Setters kept the Lions off the scoreboard in the first quarter, while they posted four goals. Pace took a 5-0 lead after scoring the first goal of the second quarter. Junior Michael Salisbury (Freeport, NY) netted the Lions first goal of the game and junior Jeffrey Flandina(West Islip, NY) cut Molloy's deficit to three (5-2).

Molloy made it a one goal game (5-4) when junior Keith Galante (Plainedge, NY) and senior Brian Tempone (Merrick, NY) each put one between the pipes. However, the Setter answered back by recording six straight goals and grabbed an 11-4 edge. With 9:33 left in the game, Galante scored his second goal of the game and less than a minute later, freshman Chris Oswald (Franklin Square, NY) notched a goal. But the Lions were unable to come back from their earlier deficit and took the 13-7 loss. Senior Rob Humann (Hicksville, NY) made 11 saves in net for Molloy.

The Lions will travel to Mercyhurst on Saturday, April 5 for a 1:00 PM game.
