MENS LACROSSE DROPS NON-CONFERENCE GAME TO SOUTHERN NEW HAMPSHIRE
ROCKVILLE CENTRE, NY- The Molloy College men's lacrosse team dropped a non-conference game to the Penmen of Southern New Hampshire University on March 26 at John A. Darcy Field. The Lions fall to 4-3 on the season, while the Penmen pick up their first win (1-2)
The Penmen scored six goals in the first quarter, while junior Jeffrey Flandina (West Islip, NY) netted the only goal for the Lions. Southern New Hampshire notched the first goal of the second quarter and freshman Vinny Galasso (West Islip, NY) recorded Molloy's only goal of the quarter. The Penmen headed into halftime with the 8-2 lead. During the third quarter, Southern New Hampshire kept Molloy out of the scorebooks and placed two more goals to their total for the 10-2 edge. Junior Keith Galante (Plainedge, NY) scored his two goals in the fourth quarter, while Flandina and senior Brian Tempone (Merrick, NY) each put one between the pipes but it would not be enough as Molloy fell, 13-6. Senior Rob Humann (Hicksville, NY) made eight saves in net for the Lions.
The Lions return to conference action when they host Adelphi University on Saturday, March 29. Game time is scheduled for 1:00 PM.
