MENS LACROSSE TAKES VICTORY OVER SETON HILL
GREENSBURG, PA- Junior Keith Galante (Plainedge, NY) recorded eight points to help lead the Molloy College men's lacrosse team to a 14-8 victory over the Griffons of Seton Hill University on March 14.
Molloy (3-0) and Seton Hill (3-3) traded goals during the first seven minutes of the game. Galante assisted on senior Kevin Meekins (Levittown, NY) goal and the Lions went on to score the next three goals to take a 6-3 lead. But before the first quarter came to a close, Seton Hill would place one more goal in the net to make it a two goal game (6-4). Senior Michael Salisbury (Freeport, NY) put one between the pipes to open the second quarter and began a 5-0 run by the Lions. With six seconds left before halftime, the Griffons notched a goal to cut their deficit to 11-4.
Seton Hill recorded the first goal of the third quarter but Galante would put the other two goals of the quarter on the scoreboard for the Lions. The Griffons tried to make one last attempt in the fourth quarter as they netted three goals but Molloy's Galante scored his final goal of the game to help seal the victory for the Lions. Galante led all players with six goals, while adding two assists. Junior Jeffrey Flandina (West Islip, NY) and freshman Ryan Bohlert (East Patchogue, NY) each had two goals during the game. Senior Rob Humann (Hicksville, NY) received the win in goal as he made eight saves.
