FORMER MOLLOY MEN’S BASKETBALL STAR MAKES CAREER TELEVISION APPEARANCE

NEW YORK, N.Y. (Sept. 16, 2009) - Former Molloy College men's basketball player Glenn Martin (Brooklyn, N.Y.) spent his Labor Day at work as he made an appearance on the Fox TV morning show Good Day, New York. Martin displayed his DJ skills as he spun records and answered questions from co-hosts Greg Kelly and Rosanna Scotto. His ability to control the crowds on the basketball court transitioned into a career doing the same from inside the booth.

Martin, now known as DJ Suave Luciano, went from spinning basketballs for the Lions to spinning records for dance lovers. He played on the team from 2004-08. His prowess on the court put him near the top of the MC record books in several categories. He ended his career in second place on the scoring list, amassing 1,549 points in 111 games, which came out to a 14.0 point-per-game average, also second-best on the Molloy list.

During his tenure in Rockville Centre, the Brooklyn native posted a .485 field goal percentage, which was good for third place on the all-time list. He also knocked down 566 field goals over the four-year span. Furthermore, Martin holds the top two slots in free throws made in one season. The alumnus made 137 of his attempts from the stripe during his senior year and 130 in his junior campaign.

The 2009-10 men's basketball season for Molloy tips off on November 15 as the Lions host the University of New Haven at Quealy Gymnasium at 2 p.m. The team finished 8-20 overall last year, and 7-11 in the East Coast Conference.
