CENTRAL ISLIP, N.Y. The East Coast Conference released its preseason poll on Wednesday for mens basketball, and Molloy College was picked sixth by the leagues coaches. The Lions, who recorded a mark of 8-20 overall and a ledger of 7-11 against league opposition last season, amassed a total of 26 points in the tally. NEW YORK, N.Y. Former Molloy College mens basketball player Glenn Martin spent his Labor Day at work as he made an appearance on the Fox TV morning show Good Day, New York. Martin displayed his DJ skills as he spun records and answered questions from co-hosts Greg Kelly and Rosanna Scotto. His ability to control the crowds on the basketball court transitioned into a career doing the same from inside the booth.

CLEVELAND, OHIO Last week, the Athletic Directors Association announced its recipients of the 2008-09 Academic Achievement Award for Division II, and Molloy College had 29 of its student-athletes recognized out of a total of 4,020 across 115 institutions. In order to obtain this honor, the student-athlete had to achieve a cumulative grade-point average of 3.5 or better. They also needed to attend the institution for at least two years, and be a member of an intercollegiate team during his or her previous academic year.
