ROCKVILLE CENTRE, NY- Senior Vincent Falzone (Middle Village, NY) recorded a double-double but the Molloy College men's basketball team fell to the Panthers of Adelphi University on January 26. The Lions drop their third in a row as they fall to 8-9 overall and 6-5 in the ECC. With the win, the Panthers improve to 10-7 and 7-4.
Molloy and Adelphi kept it close in the first half with neither team taking more than a five point lead. Molloy kept fighting back and eventually tied the game at 52 after a lay-up by Falzone with 2:26 ticks left. However, the Panthers scored the final five points of the game to hang onto the 57-52 East Coast Conference victory.
Falzone led all players with 16 points and 11 rebounds. Martin finished the game with 13 points, while junior Carl Palmer (Brooklyn, NY) and sophomore Girard Fitts (Uniondale, NY) each had seven points.
