SPARKILL, NY- Senior Vincent Falzone (Middle Village, NY) recorded a career high 30 points as the Molloy College men's basketball team dropped to the Spartans of St. Thomas Aquinas College on January 19. The Lions fell to 8-7 overall and 6-3 in the East Coast Conference, while the Spartans improve to 9-7 and 5-4.

At the midpoint of the first, STAC held the 18-11 advantage but senior Glenn Martin (Brooklyn, NY) sparked a 7-0 run to even the score at 18. Molloy went up by five points (29-24) after a jumper by senior Kris Cabrera (Manhattan, NY). In the final three minutes of the first, the game was tied twice but Molloy took the 36-34 halftime edge with a three pointer by Martin at the buzzer.

Back-to-back baskets by Martin extended the Lions advantage to six (40-34) but the Spartans answered back with a 9-3 run to tie the game at 43. Molloy and STAC traded baskets and with 4:24 left on the clock, the game was even at 70. However, STAC's Chris Williams notched two free throws and began to pull away from Molloy.
