C.W. POST SHUTS DOWN MENS BASKETBALL
BROOKVILLE, NY- The Molloy College men's basketball team fell to the Pioneers of C.W. Post in an East Coast Conference game on December 5. The 82-57 loss drops the Lions to 4-3 overall and 2-2 in the ECC, while the Pioneers improve to 5-1 and 3-0.
C.W. Post opened the game with a 20-0 run and junior Carl Palmer (Brooklyn, NY) finally placed the Lions first point on the scoreboard at the 12:30 minute mark. The Pioneers led by as many as 25 in the first half but the Lions cut their deficit to 17 as they headed into intermission. Seven minutes into the second half, C.W. Post took their biggest advantage of the game, 56-27. With less than a minute left in the game, freshman Vincent Roberts' (Baldwin, NY) brought Molloy's disadvantage to 19 (76-57) but the Lions ran out of time to ever even the score.
Palmer led the Lions with 14 points, while senior Glenn Martin (Brooklyn, NY) had 10 points during the game.
The Lions return home on Saturday, December 8 to face the University of Bridgeport. Tip-off is scheduled for 3:00 PM.
