MOLLOY TEAMS MAKE “STRIDES AGAINST BREAST CANCER”

WANTAGH, N.Y. (Oct. 22, 2009) - The Molloy College baseball, softball and women's lacrosse teams participated in the "Making Strides Against Breast Cancer" five-mile walk last Sunday at Jones Beach in Wantagh, N.Y. The American Cancer Society puts this event together annually to help for raising awareness and funds for a great cause. As for "Making Strides", the walk has described the amazing progress everyone is making to put an end to the severe disease.

"Every person knows someone that has been directly or indirectly affected by breast cancer," said Head Coach Joe Fucarino of the baseball squad. "It is great to have something like this for our team to do together off the field. This truly brings great team unity."

"It was a great feeling and experience," stated Head Women's Lacrosse Coach Tom Campolettano. "It is nice to see the student-athletes giving back to their community." For softball, senior catcher Tiffany D'Alessandro (Wantagh, N.Y.) said something similar: "It was a good experience for a good cause. Everyone had a fun time, and it certainly brought us closer as a team."
