IRWIN AND GREIG NAMED TO THE NCBWA ALL-REGION SECOND TEAM

ROCKVILLE CENTRE, NY- Irwin, who was named the 2008 East Coast Conference Player of the Year and to the All-ECC First Team, received NCBWA All-Region Second Team honors.  In addition, he garnered Daktronics All-Region First Team honors and ABCA/Rawlings All-Region Second Team honors.  Irwin led the ECC in a number of major offensive categories including slugging percentage (.554), runs scored (49), batting average (.377) and RBI (48).  In addition, he was second in on-base percentage (.472) and triples (5).  On the field, Irwin committed only three errors for a .990 field percentage. 

Sophomore T.J. Greig (Staten Island, NY), who was named to the All-ECC First Team, added NCBWA All-Region Second Team honors to his accolades.  He was selected to the Daktronics All-Region Second Team and to the ABCA/Rawlings All-Region Second Team honors.  Greig was second in the ECC in RBI (47) and doubles (18), fourth in runs scored (42), sixth in hits (65), and ninth in batting average (.332).
