IRWIN AND GREIG GARNER ALL-REGION HONORS

Irwin, who was named the 2008 East Coast Conference Player of the Year and to the All-ECC First Team, received Daktronics All-Region First Team honors and ABCA/Rawlings All-Region Second Team honors.  Irwin led the ECC in a number of major offensive categories including slugging percentage (.554), runs scored (49), batting average (.377) and RBI (48).  In addition, he was second in on-base percentage (.472) and triples (5).  On the field, Irwin committed only three errors for a .990 field percentage. 

Sophomore T.J. Greig (Staten Island, NY), who was named to the All-ECC First Team, was selected to the Daktronics All-Region Second Team and to the ABCA/Rawlings All-Region Second Team.  Greig was second in the ECC in RBI (47) and doubles (18), fourth in runs scored (42), sixth in hits (65), and ninth in batting average (.332).
