ROCKVILLE CENTRE, NY- Scott Porter (Levittown, NY) signed with the Midwest Sliders of The Frontier Baseball League on July 27, 2008. The Frontier Baseball League is an independent professional baseball league which consists of 12 teams in seven states (Ohio, Kentucky, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Indiana, Illinois and Missouri). Porter has seen action in two games since he has signed with team and has allowed one hit, two earned runs, two walks and struck out a batter in two innings thrown.

WATERBURY, CT- Seniors Chris Irwin (Mahopac, NY) and Scott Porter (Levittown, NY) each set a new Molloy College school record and guided the baseball team to the 2008 ECAC Baseball Title. The Lions (29-21) defeated the Eagles of Post University, 4-2 on May 16. Irwin recorded two hits during the game to surpass Michael Scarinci for the school record in career hits. Porter broke the school record for career strikeouts as he notched two during the game.

BROOKVILLE, NY- Senior Chris Irwin (Mahopac, NY) broke the Molloy College school record for career RBI after notching five during the 10-6 loss to the Pioneers of C.W. Post on May 7 in the first round of the ECC Tournament. Irwin now holds the career RBI record with 136 RBI surpassing Ken Snipp who had 131 career RBI from 2000-03. With the loss, the Lions have been eliminated from the Tournament, while the Pioneers will face the University of New Haven on May 9. Molloy will wait to see if they will be part of the 2008 ECAC tournament.

CENTRAL ISLIP, NY- Senior Chris Irwin (Mahopac, NY) was named the 2008 East Coast Conference Player of the Year and selected to the All-ECC First Team. Irwin is in the ECC top ten in a number of major offensive categories including first in slugging percentage (.534) and runs scored (46). In addition, he is second in on-base percentage (.461), triples (5) and RBI (42) and third in batting average (.356). On the field, Irwin has committed only two errors for a .987 field percentage.

The 6-1 catcher obtained a .379 batting average and helped the Molloy College baseball team to a 12-8 overall record during the month of April. For the month, he recorded 25 hits including 3 doubles and four homeruns, 23 RBI, 18 runs scored, a .636 slugging percentage and was 7-8 on the base path.
